Blogging Block

I have Blogging Block.

After a break from blogging and apart from writing about that amazing break, I’m a bit stuck….I think this is normal but I’m never quiet…it’s just not me! I think being away from my blog has helped me realise that well, it’s taken over my life just a teeny bit??Maybe having Bloggers Block is a good thing?

What to write??

Apparently I need to write a post like…

“10 ways to cure your Blogging Writers Block.”

“How to overcome writers block when blogging in 5 easy steps.”

It’s good for SEO apparently.

So…… are my 5 easy steps to curing my blogging Block.

1. Get a coffee.

2. Tit about on social media for a bit.

3. Read that book that has been lying by your bed for months whilst you have been blogging.

4. Talk to your family.

5. Resume normal life.

I hope that my Bloggers Block is not terminal. I’m off into my garden for a bit…..

Any advice fellow bloggers?

  1. Hi Old House,
I am Janice. You and I are like-minded bloggers. I also offer blogging tips and have blogged about how to overcome Writers Block twice. I have a third post planned late next week on this topic too.
Maybe you can check out my blog. I blog over at http://mostlybloggingcom. In addition to offering blogging tips at my site, I also host six blogging events each month where you could meet new readers.

  2. Gin…if all else fails – a LARGE gin. πŸ™‚ I’ve given up trying to improve my SEO. I’m not prepared to shoehorn in keywords (who has this list of magical keywords anyway?!) or waffle on to appease the Gods of Google’s word count. So you’re right. Step back for a while; you’ll soon find inspiration. I carry a little notebook around with me in my bag, and am always jotting down ideas, things I’ve seen etc. x

  3. I have been gone most of the summer and my big vaca hasn’t even started!!!!! I ‘ll be back full swing soon and then you all will be sick of hearing from me! Ha Ha! Just write what and when you want, is my philosophy! Loved your Greece photos!

  4. Tit about on social media for a bit is by far the best line I’ve ever read in one of these kinds of posts πŸ™‚

  5. Oh I think we all get it sometimes or at least I do anyway but what I love about the summer is so many other bloggers are in the same boat so it feels less stressful somehow. It is a time to kick back and enjoy our family and time out from normal routine and if that includes blogging so be it. I try not to stress about it too much, I write when I can and if I have something of value to say, otherwise I don’t. We are all still here and will be waiting for the lifting of your block! Glass of Rose time! I may have a go at a garden post just so I can join your August linky! x

  7. Sometimes writer’s block is a good thing as it is preparing you for what you will be writing about next. Finding some inspiration on down time without even realizing it. Blogging and keeping up with social media is very draining I feel. So enjoy your writer’s block because I am sure you will be coming back full force!!! Stopping by from #Alittlebitofeverything link up. πŸ™‚

  9. Mhmm the good olde block, I just chill for a while, good walk around a garden, making notes, taking a few pictures and find that helps to give me a few ideas to break the block, even then sometimes I rewrite things a few times until it feels right, got ideas from speaking to other people either on social media or even face to face, just sometimes something small, I find just triggers my brain back into writing mode
Good luck and I hope the writing mojo soon returns πŸ˜€

  10. My muse floats in and out and always visits when least expected . I’ve stopped planning blog posts as when I do I sit looking at a blank screen. Muse visits usually when I’m walking into town listening to music or listening to something random that I don’t normally listen to.
Blogs are the best when they’re not contrived and they speak from the heart. Patience will reward you with renewed inspiration I’m sure… and the odd glass of gin of course!
I enjoy reading your blogs very much.

    • Thank you lovely! You are right about ideas just popping into our heads at random moments! I need to get in the habit of writing ideas down though as I’m at the stage in, lifewhere I forget everything and then wonder why I have Bloggers Block! I think I need to rename this post….menopausal brain? Lol
      Thanks for reading. X
